Visual Effects and Photography has been his hobby, passion and work for almost his entire life.

Originally from Colombia, he began his journey in the digital world at the age of 17 working at his father post-production house. From there, after some years of work and learning from his dad, he moved to Toronto, Canada to study Computer Graphics Animation, then went  back to Colombia to work on Visual FX and to study photography, which he couldn’t  finish due his long hours doing vfx post-production.  

In 2001, Carlos moved to Florida and later on to California. He has worked for clients such as Discovery Channel, Sony Playstation, Zoic Studios, NBC Studios, JWT Colombia, DDB Colombia, Producciones Her, among others. In one way or another, he has been involved with all them through different technical grades: Visual Effects, Motion Design, Art Direction or post-production.

Carlos Barrera is now living in Chicago working as a TV Producer / Motion Graphics Artist for Univision, he has been awarded with four Emmys and one Promax/BDA Design award since then.
